Daydream and possibly make more money

Unfortunately you can't day dream all the time. But now and again seems to help creativity. I think this goes hand in hand with Stephen Covey's principle of sharpening the saw. Too often I find myself ultra focused and get bogged down in the mire. I read an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal about it today Go ahead interrupt me There are those, and often find myself in the camp. That believe long hours of trudging along.  Will lead to success, much like the … [Read more...]

Egypt’s New Hope, America’s new Hope

Freedom is what fuels innovation. The events in Egypt over the past few weeks give me hope that good things are happening in the world. Hopefully this new spark of change encourages more countries to give more freedom and liberty to their people. I am hoping it inspires each of us to find ways to find ways to be more free in our own lives. … [Read more...]

I am never going to be popular.

I used to believe what I have could make people happy, or at least happier. However, in the past several years I discovered I am fool. I can't make or help people be happier, they are going to have to do that themselves. I have also discovered most people don't want to be happy they would rather be miserable, really miserable. Most of us don't want other people telling us to do, mostly because each of us thinks we have it all figured out. We all believe something that what is … [Read more...]

Down with Taxes!

Everyone wants someone else to pay taxes. Today in the New York Times the most popular article is "The Paradox of Corporate Taxes in America" - http://nyti.ms/hcEbQ . It's so easy to say , "Their rich, make them pay my taxes." But what if they pay more taxes and you lose your job because to pay the higher taxes they can't afford you. Now all they can afford is to have your job done in India. We are not rational and that no one realizes the long term effects. Sadly everyone is selfish … [Read more...]

Is this a surprise?

I'd like to call you an idiot if you told me otherwise, but I probably wouldn't. I've heard other reasons, but none ring true like this article "Salary main motivation for most ME staff" http://bit.ly/fnWgsX Companies should figure this out, because when the economy turns around and it will turn around.  Companies that have treated their employees poorly will be left in the badlands. There are ways right now companies can compensate their employees fairly.  But most don't know the … [Read more...]

Why? Pro-Football does away with Pay for Performance

Who cares what pro football players make?  They make so damn much money anyway. I am surprised the NFL is doing away with this program.  I think all pro sports should have something like this.  They keep track of all kinds of stats it should be easy to figure out what performance brings the most money to and organization. check out the article to see what you think. No performance-based pay for guys who did a lot at little salary | ProFootballTalk http://bit.ly/e5AGSy I just … [Read more...]

Good Teachers Should Get Paid More

Doesn't that just sound obvious?  Doesn't that just seem fair? I read this on the TASB (Texas Association of School Boards) website today.  http://bit.ly/bXLH3h  It talks about how teachers in the school district are going to be paid by how well they teach and how well their students progress.  They have been getting ready for this for 3 years.  The principles of the schools have to evaluate probationary teachers 8 times a semester and 4 times for non probationary teachers. The teachers … [Read more...]

Freedom Motivates – People

Every time I hear the word freedom I remember that point in Braveheart, right before William Wallace is about to be pulled apart by horses, when he yells "FREEDOM"  So we all know William Wallace was motivated by freedom, and was willing to die for it. The question we all need to be asking is; Am I willing to fight and die for freedom. Too often we give up our freedom to get something temporary.  If I want a car I get into debt, (slavery if it's more than I can afford),  We become … [Read more...]

Age of Innovation

The Age of Innovation is upon us.  Learn how to be innovative or get run over. It's interesting I have grown up in the information age. However with the advent of Google most information is free and there are volumes, billions of volumes created everyday. I have realized over the past year that we are in a new age. Most people don't realize we are into a new age for sometime. I am starting to find more signs of this. I did a search of innovation on the Wall Street Journal and found … [Read more...]

Step 1: Discover More Profit

How to increase productivity The first step to increasing productivity  is a business assessment. This consists of looking at your financial history to find out how productive the money you are spending on labor has been. From this in-depth assessment it can be determined how much extra profit potential there is for your company. This takes about 1 week for every 30 employees. The cost for this assessment is $2950 per week + travel expenses.  This cost can be absorbed into the final fee … [Read more...]
