I got a DM(Direct Message) From a user last week that I had helped before that asked the question.\u00a0 Should I use the free\u00a0 WordPress.com or should I host my own site.<\/p>\n
I will give a couple of reasons why either is a good choice.\u00a0 I try to stay away from the cons unless it’s there are some really glaring issues.\u00a0 But then if there are real problems I probably won’t say anything at all.<\/p>\n
Reasons to Go with WordPress.com<\/p>\n
1. It doesn’t cost you any money.\u00a0 It’s FREE.<\/p>\n
2. No updating, backing up, maintenance of the software.\u00a0 That is huge.<\/p>\n
3. Lots of things can be added to sidebars and posts from other sights and services.\u00a0 Most of the time when you see a service or site will ingrate into wordpress.\u00a0 They are talking about wordpress.com<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0 All the part of the theme work, and work on most browsers.<\/p>\n
Hosting WordPress yourself.<\/p>\n
1. Total Control<\/p>\n
2. Ability to tweak themes to get exactly what you want.<\/p>\n
3. Thousands of Themes and Pluging (with the ability to create your own if you want.)<\/p>\n
4. Ability to add latest technologies to your site.<\/p>\n
5. Make it look like a website instead of a blog.<\/p>\n
